"Let’s hope Uncharted 3 is cliché free"
God, I hope not. What would Uncharted be without a healthy dose of the cliche? A certain level of cheesiness is good for this genre, and you should embrace it, dude!
Uncharted doesn't have to say anything to be labeled "cinematic." Like Indiana Jones or Die Hard, it's a fun roller-coaster-ride (there's a nice cliche for ya) and that's all it's aspiring to be. Do the other games listed there really have ...
Somebody tell the guy who wrote this that a $9 movie ticket is MUCH cheaper than a $60 game, and that The Dark Knight made $158 million in its opening weekend.
158 mil / 9 = about 17,555,555.5 people saw The Dark Knight in two days
335 mil / 60 = about 5,583,333.3 people bought MW 2 in about the same time
And who knows how much TDK made on dvd and blu ray. Modern Warfare 2's sales are impressive, but it's not "blowing away Hollywood"
If Elton John decided to become a biker, I think he'd look exactly like the guy in that pic.
I went through the same deal, watched my friend play it and saw him go from "Awesome game!" to "This is disgusting!" as soon as this part hit.
It wouldn't be such a big deal if they hadn't put you in control and encouraged you to gun down everybody. That, and this level seems to go on FOREVER.
@ 6.1
Damn, dude! Has a film or a book never made you cringe?
Yeah, maybe we can shoot up a school or an old folk's home next time
Yeah right. Left 4 Dead 3 coming summer 2010
Jesus Christ man, I've never felt so sick at the thought of a game. I know it sounds so cliche and lame, but these assholes aren't getting my money.
This isn't like GTA where violence is played off in a comedic way. It's all about how it's presented. Did you see that injured guy try to crawl away from the player? That's pretty disgusting.
I understand they're trying to create shock value, but encouraging YOU to mow down all those people is f'ed up and shameless.
I'm with Dude #2, I want this
Ah! Not Fearing the Darkness; Shine Brightly! Super Fun Time with Much Happy!
Why don't these guys just come out and say, "We don't want to do a ps3 game" or, "We're getting money from Microsoft."?
It's probably both. Why are they trying to defend themselves by saying crazy shiz?
Dammit, if you have 60 bucks that you absolutely have to get rid of, go buy dinner for some homeless people! It's a nice gesture and all, but you know DICE doesn't need it, and I'm pretty sure Infinity Ward won't have to cancel Christmas this year because they lost out on this guy's cash.
If he really wanted to send a middle finger to the MW 2 people, he could have lit it on fire and put video of it on youtube. At least that would have been kind of fun.
Saints Row 2 absolutely KILLS GTA 4 - and pours a 40 on it
I'm not really seeing the resemblance. I think its Fillion's eyes that make him look pretty different.
You're tired of everyone suggesting Johnny Depp for every role, eh?
Hugh Jackman is more well known for really intense roles, like in The Prestige or Wolverine, but his real life personality is so close to Nate's. I can so easily see him knocking out some poor suckers on a train and saying, "Sorry boys, just had to punch your tickets!"
You can definitely do worse than Nathan Filion, but he seems like too obvious of a choice, if that makes any sense.
Van Helsing was a pile of crap, but that sure as hell wasn't Hugh Jackman's fault. This guy can do anything, I'm sure he'd be brilliant as Drake.
I'd love to see the original cast appear in the movie, but maybe not as their characters from the game. I can see Nolan North doing some kind of extended cameo, kind of like Bruce Campbell in the Spider-Man movies.
Emily Rose needs to be Elena, though, no need to look for anyone else there.
Getting an actual disc in the mail kicks the ass out of 360 and ps3 combined
I never had much interest in rock band or guitar hero, but this game looks so damn awesome. I need money, stat.
Yeah, I never bothered with Netflix on my 360. It doesn't look that great. I have 80 movies in my queue, and only 7 of them can be watched instantly.
It's kind of cool, but whatever, not a big deal.
Except you're not paying a dollar a week, you're paying 50 bucks upfront.
I'd pay one dollar for a gold subscription that lasted a week, but I'm not gonna waste 50 dollars on something I'm only going to use every once in a while.
Left 4 Dead is tempting me though.
I'd buy that
